Craps is such an exciting game. It’s fast paced and action packed. I love playing craps in Vegas and I also enjoy playing craps online. When it comes to winning at craps I think the most important craps playing strategy is knowing the bets involved in the game. Why this is so important is because craps has a lot of bets and you need to know them well so that you can plan a good betting strategy for yourself.

One of the most common and most recommended bets in craps is the pass line bet placed on the come out roll. The pass line bet is a bet that wins on two occasions. The first is if the shooter rolls out a 7 or 11 on the come out roll. The bet loses if the come out roll is a 2, 3, or 12. The second win happens over two stages. If the shooter rolls out a point number which includes 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 then the shooter will have to continue to roll the dice until he can repeat that point number. If he does so you win even money on the pass line bet. If however the shooter rolls out a 7 before he can make the point number again the bet loses. The pass line bet has a house edge of just 1.41% which is really good for the players.

Another good craps bet to place is the odds bet. This bet is placed after the point has been established after the come out roll. The odds bet multiplies your pass line bet. Most of the time the odds bet doubles your pass line bet but the multiples differ from one casino to another. The best thing about this bet is that it has a zero house advantage. So when you combine the pass line bet with an odds bet the house edge can be brought down considerably.

The bets that I wouldn’t recommend are the bets like big six and big eight. These hard way bets have terrible odds. The house advantage is as high as 9.1%. And it’s not just good betting craps strategy, but common sense to keep away from these bets because it’s very unlikely that a big 8 or a big six will be rolled out.

Understanding the bets properly and using simple betting strategy are the easiest ways to play a good game of craps. Also please remember to stick to a fixed budget and call it the quits if you are not winning. Another day may be a lucky day for you.
